This was an experiment in using only black and white acrylic paint.
It was given to my hairdresser to put in her salon, as a thank you for years of good hair cuts!
2008
For a change of subject I wanted to try still life. I am extremely fortunate to have a friend and mentor, Judy Pennefather, president of RAS allow me to use her studio.
She set up this still life, my first in her studio, and helped with composition and critiques.
It is mixed media of acrylic under coat and finished in oil

This was a portrait done in art class at RAS. Pastel on paper.
It reminded me of my father.
This portrait was done in art class, conducted by Alan Somerville at RAS North Sydney. Oil on canvas using big brushes.
This painting is a gift to my daughter for her birthday and because she is pregnant with another grandchild.
She requested something to bring her garden into her home which had plenty of white on the canvas.
I tried to create the feeling of being in a wild colourful garden. Using mixed media of acrylic and oil and with real leaves and foliage added in areas. It was a fun piece to create by pouring straight from the tube to create colours with texture. The flowers are added by pallet knife.
Painted in March 2014
